About

Katherine Sims is a big reason Vermont is unaffordable. Just look at her voting record!

A brand new payroll tax coming out of your paycheck (H.217/H.66).
A 20% increase DMV fees that was unnecessary to support the Department (H.479).
A carbon tax that will increase the cost of heating fuel up to $4.03 per gallon (S.5).
A 13% increase in property taxes for FY2025 without any structural reforms (H.165/S.287).

A 100% increase in her own salary after increasing cost of living for working Vermonters (S.39).

The Clean Heat Standard (Act 18) is a tax/fee on oil, kerosene, propane and natural gas that official estimates say could be between $1.79 and $4.03 per gallon. On top of current oil prices, that would mean around $8.00/gallon. Katherine Sims voted for the Heat Fee every time she’s had the chance, including two votes to override the Governor’s veto of this tax on warmth. Sims is a member of the Climate Solutions Caucus that made passing the heat fee a priority, got an early endorsement for her senate bid from VPIRG as a supporter of their agenda (which prominently includes passage of Heat Standard and her campaign manager is also the political director for Vermont Conservation Voters, a special interest  that lobbies for the CHS before the legislature.

A FINAL VOTE TO IMPLEMENT THE ACT 18 HOME HEATING TAX WILL TAKE PLACE IN JANUARY, AFTER THIS ELECTION. Orleans County Voters can’t trust Katherine Sims to vote NO.
